Patriot PAWS Service Dogs

You may know me as Sarah Naylor, a Rockwall Realtor, but I’m also an avid supporter of our local charities.

One organization that holds a special place in my heart is Patriot PAWS. Founded in 2006, this national non-profit organization provides service dogs to disabled American veterans and individuals with mobility disabilities. Their mission is to help those who have served our country, and that’s something we can get behind.

Serving Those Who Served Us

Patriot PAWS was born out of an encounter between Founder and Executive Director Lori Stevens and a group of veterans at the Dallas VA Hospital in 2005. Witnessing their struggle to train their personal dogs as service dogs, Lori knew she had to take action. With her expertise as a professional dog trainer and a deep connection to the military through her son’s enlistment, she founded Patriot Paws to make a difference in the lives of our national heroes.

Patriot PAWS primarily focuses on providing highly trained service dogs to veterans at no cost. These dogs are specifically trained to assist with mobile disabilities and post-traumatic stress. Over the years that Sarah Naylor has supported the non-profit organization, their services have expanded to address physical, emotional, and mental traumas resulting from service-connected injuries. Through the incredible bond between veterans and their service dogs, Patriot PAWS helps improve their day-to-day lives and restores their independence.

What we love about Patriot PAWS is that their vision extends beyond providing service dogs. They aim to build partnerships with state and community organizations to develop and support their mission. By collaborating with various entities, they can reach more veterans in need and enhance the effectiveness of their programs.
